There are only two kinds of forest communities – those that have had a fire and those that are going to.”

Expertise for Communities, Businesses and Residents

For Jim Paxon, the forest has been his home and office for nearly four decades. He loves the forest and understands man’s desire to live and play in its beauty. However, Jim also believes that with that privilege comes responsibility.

As a leader in the United States Fire Service, Jim became an expert on the natural importance of fire, as well as the role of communities and residents in preparing for the inevitability of fire. Although he is retired from the Forest Service, Jim continues to live his passion and share his expertise by consulting with governments, businesses and residents on how to live with fire.

Communities

Jim will help you develop a forest management plan, as well as help you communicate with your residents on how to create safe space around their structures. He is available to speak to community groups and other organizations with stakes in the safety of your community. Jim is also experienced in bringing groups with differing opinions together to work toward a solution. He can help you bring consensus around fire risk management in your community.

Residents, Neighborhood Groups and Home Owners Associations

Protecting your home from fire can be as simple. However, if your neighbor doesn’t take those same steps, your entire neighborhood could be at risk. Jim will assess your risk and identify ways you can reduce the risk to your home. He can work with an entire neighborhood to create and execute a plan.

Jim consults with government agencies, media, businesses, firefighters, schools and more. Contact him to discuss how he can reduce the risk for your community, business or home.

Businesses

A fire can disable your business. For too many, the impact will be so great that they never recover. Jim will assess your risks and work with you to reduce them. He will speak to your employees about the roles they can play in reducing risk around your workplace and their own homes.
